Trip highlights
- Dwarkadhish evening darshan, timed against the 13:00 to 17:00 closure
- Bet Dwarka by road over Sudarshan Setu, no ferry queue
- Nageshwar Jyotirlinga and Rukmini temple on the same loop
- Somnath 19:00 aarti followed by the 20:00 light and sound show
- Viewing gallery at 153 m inside the 182 m Statue of Unity
- A full day at Ekta Nagar rather than a rushed half day
- Two nights at Ekta Nagar, so the statue day starts at the 08:00 gate opening
Why this trip is not a loop, and why the start date matters
Every other package on this site stays in Saurashtra. This one does not. The Statue of Unity stands at Ekta Nagar in Narmada district, on the far side of the state from Dwarka, and the drive from Somnath to Kevadia is about 500 km and roughly eight hours. That is a real day, spent in a car, and no amount of itinerary language turns it into sightseeing. We put it in writing because you will feel it on day four whether we mention it or not.
Two things follow from the geography. The route is a one-way traverse rather than a circuit, so you arrive on the Saurashtra coast and leave from the Vadodara side, which means multi-city tickets rather than a return. And the whole trip hangs on a single fixed date: the Statue of Unity is closed every Monday for maintenance. This itinerary visits it on day five. Count forward and a Thursday start puts day five on a Monday, at a locked gate, 500 km from where you began.
So we do not sell a Thursday departure on this plan. If Thursday is the only day your leave allows, we reshape the itinerary rather than let you find out at the gate.
What goes wrong
Monday. The complex closes every Monday for maintenance, and that includes the evening show, so a Monday inside your five nights costs you the reason you booked this trip. National holidays do not reliably override it. The second thing that goes wrong is the ticket: general entry covers the bus into the complex, the museum and the gardens, and it does not include the lift to the viewing gallery, which is a separate ticket on the same portal. Book tickets only at the official government portal, soutickets.in. We check your dates against the closure before we quote and we tell you which ticket to buy.
Know before you go
The Statue of Unity is closed every Monday, so a Thursday start puts day five at a locked gate.
General entry does not include the 153 m viewing gallery. That is a separate ticket.
Day four is about 500 km and roughly eight hours of driving with no sightseeing in it.
The route ends near Vadodara, not where it started. Book multi-city air tickets.
Ekta Nagar hotels sit 6 to 7 km out, then a shuttle runs inside the complex. Budget both transfers.
Dwarkadhish closes 13:00 to 17:00, so afternoon arrivals wait for the evening darshan.
Somnath's light and sound show does not run during the monsoon.
Day-wise itinerary

Bet Dwarka and Nageshwar are a road day over Sudarshan Setu, out and back, no ferry to wait for
Day3Dwarka to SomnathFull Day|Temple Visits

Good to know on price
Rs. 21,999 across five nights is about Rs. 4,400 per person per night with the private vehicle and breakfast inside that figure. The price moves with group size, because a car split six ways is not a car split two ways, and with hotel tier and season.
One thing about Ekta Nagar that nobody writes down: no hotel is at the statue. Fortune Statue of Unity sits on Statue of Unity Road about 7 km out, and The Fern Sardar Sarovar Resort is roughly 6 km out, opposite Ekta Nagar railway station. Then, once you are inside the complex, a shuttle bus runs from the ticket area to the statue base, about fifteen minutes each way. So budget the transfer twice on day five. Choosing between these three is a choice about rooms and food, not about walking to the statue, because nobody walks to the statue.
General darshan at Somnath and Dwarkadhish is free. Seva and donations go through the Shree Somnath Trust at somnath.org and nowhere else. Statue of Unity tickets are sold by the government portal soutickets.in. No private number, no personal UPI, ours included.
Why choose Experience My India
- We check your dates against the Monday closure before quoting. It is the first thing we look at on this itinerary, not an afterthought in the confirmation email.
- We publish the drive. About 500 km and roughly eight hours on day four. Competitors write "proceed to Kevadia" and let you discover it.
- We tell you which ticket to buy. General entry does not take you up the statue. The viewing gallery is a separate ticket and its morning slots go first.
- We plan the exit around Ekta Nagar station. Trains run from there, which for many travellers beats a 190 km drive to Ahmedabad on the last morning.
- We book only through official channels. Statue tickets on soutickets.in, Somnath seva on somnath.org.
- We will tell you when this trip is the wrong shape. If the statue is the real reason for the journey, a short Ahmedabad or Vadodara trip serves you better than 500 km of Saurashtra highway, and we would rather say so than sell you six days.
This plan is not for you if
- a long driving day is out of the question
- your leave only allows a Thursday start and you cannot let us reshape the itinerary
- you need to fly in and out of one airport
- you wanted a pilgrimage without a monument day bolted on. Say so and we will point you at the coastal plans instead
Six days, five nights, from Rs. 21,999 per person, the temple coast and the tallest statue in the world in one line across Gujarat. Send your dates and group size and we will confirm in the same reply whether your statue day falls on a Monday. +91 7302265809.
