Trip highlights

  • The lowest per person price on this circuit, from Rs. 7,999
  • Three nights of hotel and breakfast every morning, the same as the private products
  • Dwarkadhish evening darshan, timed against the 13:00 to 17:00 closure
  • Nageshwar Jyotirlinga, about 17 km from Dwarka
  • Somnath 19:00 aarti after the run through Porbandar
  • Bet Dwarka available as a priced option, stated up front rather than hidden

Rs. 7,999 against Rs. 13,999, and where the difference went

The same four days cost Rs. 13,999 per person by car and Rs. 7,999 here. That is roughly six thousand rupees a head, and on a group of thirty it is the difference between a yatra happening and not happening. We sell this product because for a lot of pilgrimage groups it is the right one, and we are not going to be coy about why it costs less.

Bet Dwarka moves from included to optional. That is the big one. On the car and tempo traveller versions the island is part of day two. Here it is an extra, and the reason is distance: Bet Dwarka is about 33 km from Dwarka, roughly forty five minutes each way, so a coach doing it properly gives up most of a morning. If the island matters to you, say so at the enquiry and we will price it in rather than leave you to find out on day two.

The vehicle runs to a timetable, not to your darshan. A coach leaves when the coach leaves. A car waits while a queue clears. That is the flexibility the lower price is made of, and it is a real trade rather than a marketing distinction.

Everything else survives. Three nights of hotel, breakfast every morning, Dwarkadhish evening darshan, Nageshwar, the run to Somnath through Porbandar, the 19:00 aarti and a final morning at Triveni Sangam. The temples do not know what you arrived in.

The itinerary, and the one decision to make early

The route is the standard four day plan with the island removed from day two. Arrival in Dwarka by coach and the evening Dwarkadhish darshan, a day covering Nageshwar and Rukmini, the run to Somnath through Porbandar for the 19:00 aarti, then Somnath darshan and Triveni Sangam on the last morning. The full hour by hour version is on the 4 days 3 nights plan, and everything there holds except the island.

If you want Bet Dwarka, decide before you book. The island's own Dwarkadhish temple runs a morning session and an evening one and closes through the middle of the day, so an excursion added on the morning of day two does not work. It has to be built into the day from the start, which means it has to be in the quote. This is the one thing on this page we would ask you to answer now rather than later.

The three versions, side by side

Read the Bet Dwarka row twice. It is the row that decides which of these three pages you should be on.

From, per person — Rs. 7,999: Rs. 12,999

Best for — Larger pilgrimage groups: Groups of roughly 8 to 17

Bet Dwarka — Optional, priced separately: Included

Waits for a long queue — No, it runs to the group timetable: Yes

Nights and breakfast — Three nights, breakfast daily: Same

What goes wrong

The omission nobody reads. A group books on price, arrives, and discovers on day two that the island everyone assumed was included is a separate excursion. That is the single most common complaint about budget packages on this coast and it is entirely avoidable, which is why it is written at the top of this page rather than the bottom. The second is the coach timetable: if your group is slow at gates, the vehicle does not absorb it the way a car does, and the Somnath 19:00 aarti is a fixed point that waits for nobody. The third is seasonal: Somnath's light and sound show does not run in the monsoon, so a July group plans the evening around the aarti alone.

Know before you go

Bet Dwarka is optional on this package, not included. Ask for it at the enquiry stage.

The Bet Dwarka temple closes through the middle of the day, so the excursion cannot be added on the morning.

The coach runs to a group timetable and does not wait the way a private car does.

Dwarkadhish closes 13:00 to 17:00, so a mid afternoon arrival waits for the evening.

Somnath bans all electronics inside. Free lockers and a free shoe house are at the gate.

Somnath's light and sound show does not run during the monsoon.

Good to know on price

Rs. 7,999 across three nights is about Rs. 2,700 per person per night with the coach seat and breakfast inside that figure, which tells you honestly what kind of room it buys. It is a clean bed, near the temples, on a group rate. It is not the sea-facing room, and we would rather you knew that from the arithmetic than from the photographs.

The value tier is quoted per departure because group rates depend on your dates and headcount, and we name the property in writing before you pay rather than after. Move up a tier and the named chain properties come into play, and on a big group that jump is sometimes smaller than you expect because larger hotels release blocks that small ones cannot.

General darshan at Dwarkadhish and Somnath is free, and so are the Somnath cloakroom lockers and shoe house. Seva and donations at Somnath go through the Shree Somnath Trust at somnath.org and nowhere else. No private number, no personal UPI, ours included.

Why choose Experience My India

  • We put the omission in the title. Bet Dwarka is optional on this product. You should not have to read an inclusions box in six point type to find that out.
  • We price the island in when you ask for it. Say the word at the enquiry and it is in the quote, built into day two properly rather than squeezed in.
  • We publish the comparison against our own more expensive products. The table above costs us money on some enquiries. It is still the right table.
  • We hold the group rate before we quote it. On a value product the room block is the whole margin, so we confirm what a property will release before we give you a number.
  • We brief the coach timings to the group, not just the leader. A vehicle that runs to a timetable only works if everyone knows the timetable.
  • The concession: this is the least flexible way to do this trip. If your group is slow, if elders need extra time at every gate, or if somebody may want an unplanned second darshan, pay for the tempo traveller instead. We will tell you which one you are on the phone.

This plan is not for you if

  • Bet Dwarka is the reason you are coming
  • your group needs the vehicle to wait
  • you want a sea-facing room
  • there are fewer than eight of you. In the last case the car version is the honest answer even though it costs more per head

Four days, three nights, from Rs. 7,999 per person, and one clearly labelled omission rather than a surprise on day two. Send your dates, your group size and a yes or no on Bet Dwarka, and we will send a real price. +91 7302265809.

Frequently Asked Questions

Package FAQs

Why is the bus package so much cheaper than the car one?
Two reasons, and we would rather state both. Bet Dwarka is optional here instead of included, and the coach runs to a fixed group timetable rather than waiting on your darshan queue. Everything else is the same: three nights, daily breakfast, the same temples, the same aarti.
Is Bet Dwarka included in this package?
No. It is a paid option on this product and an inclusion on the car and tempo traveller versions. The island is about 33 km from Dwarka, roughly forty five minutes each way, so covering it properly costs most of a morning, and that is what the price difference reflects.
Can we add Bet Dwarka on the day?
Not reliably. The island's Dwarkadhish temple runs a morning session and an evening one and closes through the middle of the day, so an excursion decided at breakfast on day two usually fails on timing. Ask for it at the enquiry stage and we build it into the day instead.
Will the coach wait for us if the darshan queue is long?
Not in the way a car does. A coach carries a whole group to a published timetable, so the vehicle protects the group's schedule rather than any one family's. If that is a problem for your travellers, the tempo traveller version is built to absorb it and costs about five thousand rupees more per head.
Is Rs. 7,999 per person or for the group?
Per person, and it is a starting figure that depends on group size, dates and the room block we can hold. Send your numbers and your dates and we will send the real price along with the name of the hotel we are holding.
